Obv: Venus Genetrix, wearing diadem and necklace; hair knotted and falling in two locks. Rev: Aeneas, holding Palladium and carrying Anchises on shoulder. CAESAR One of the commonest of Caesar's issues, a reminder of the tradition that the Julian family was descended from Aeneas, son of Venus.
