Purchased from Charles Ede Ltd, London, with funds from the Friends of Antiquity on the occasion of the Antiquities Museum’s 50th Anniversary.

The second item acquired to mark the Museum's 50th Anniversary in 2013, this Roman Memorial Tablet was purchased with funds from the Friends of Antiquity.

The tablet's inscription reads: 

Philema, the wardrobe maid, for her brother Secundio, the steward of Caelia, 25 years old.

Secundio was a trusted slave, tasked with managing the finances of his master, Caelia. The tablet was set up by his sister, Philema, who was also a slave.
